Bringing D&I research to the fashion industry

Stella Mccartney
THE ASK

Stella McCartney sought to enhance its commitment to diversity and inclusion, with a focus on attracting underrepresented talent.

We collaborated with Stella McCartney to craft a comprehensive diversity and inclusion (D&I) strategy aimed at attracting, engaging, hiring, and retaining diverse talent. Our journey began with a national research project, aiming to capture insights from diverse communities, including underrepresented groups.

THe Solution

To do this, we conducted a national research project. This was needed to identify challenges and opportunities in recruiting diverse talent and would allow us to present the findings to Stella McCartney’s board, develop internal and external diversity programs and foster an inclusive workplace culture.

Our approach followed a systematic path:

  1. Comprehensive Research: A national research project collected insights on the challenges faced by diverse candidates and what attracted them to Stella McCartney as an employer.
  2. Board Presentation: Findings were presented to Stella McCartney’s board, offering deeper insights into underrepresented group experiences in the job market.
  3. Diversity Programs: Collaborating with Stella McCartney’s team, we designed internal and external diversity programs to promote inclusivity and attract diverse candidates.
The Impact

Our partnership with Stella McCartney has yielded substantial outcomes:

  • Informing D&I Plan: Our research supplements Stella McCartney’s internal data, contributing to the development of their five-year D&I plan.
  • Inclusive Culture: Stella McCartney’s commitment to diversity is fostering a more inclusive workplace culture.
