Looking at the communications of London’s Police Force through a D&I lens
We partnered with the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) for a two-part communications review, focusing on Brixton in the London Borough of Lambeth. Our objective was to assess and refine the MPS communications strategy through data analysis, input from MPS personnel, and community feedback. MPS aimed to improve its communications in Brixton’s diverse community.
Our project involved two phases:
Phase One: Data Analysis: We conducted desk research to gather foundational data.
Phase Two: Contextual Evaluation: Building on Phase One, we delved deeper into experiences, considering both MPS personnel and local residents.
Our report aimed to:
- Analyse MPS’ social media engagement effectiveness on Twitter and Instagram in Brixton.
- Assess sentiment and experiences of MPS personnel and local residents.
- Provide actionable, data-driven recommendations for MPS.
And our overall project objectives were to:
- Evaluate MPS’ social media performance in engaging Brixton’s community.
- Analyse feedback from MPS personnel and residents to understand their perspectives.
- Deliver data-based findings and recommendations for an enhanced communication strategy.
We considered the complex context, incorporating external social media insights and internal reflections to offer comprehensive insights.
In summary, our collaboration with MPS in Brixton employed data-driven, community-centric methods to enhance their communications strategy. This multifaceted approach provided valuable insights and actionable recommendations all compiled into a thorough 250 page report which enabled MPS to improve communication within Brixton’s dynamic community.
